Arrive a little early to the League’s Convention in Holland and you’ll have an opportunity to participate in an in-depth, interactive session. This year, on the morning of Sept. 13, we’ll be offering three different workshops:
- Building Trust Between Citizens and Law Enforcement, presented by the Michigan Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials – A panel of government leaders will discuss strategies to build trust and foster positive relations between citizens and law enforcement.
- Understanding the General Law Village Act – This workshop will cover specific sections of the General Law Village Act based on frequently asked questions to the League, and more.
- Council-Manager Relations – Learn about the appropriate roles for elected officials and managers, as well as strategies and examples to build productive relationships.
Each workshop will provide you with valuable ideas to apply in your own community.
