Municipal Finance Reform Campaign to Launch at Capital Conference!

Lansing-capitol-springtime-300x225Michigan’s municipal finance model is broken. For a decade or more, the State has been disinvesting in Michigan communities and leaving them in the precarious position of trying to accomplish more for their residents with less and less resources.

Last year, the League’s Board of Trustees said “enough!” They decided to make municipal finance reform a top legislative priority. Since then, League staff have been working behind the scenes to build a legislative and policy case for why communities matter and how there has been a consistent disinvestment in communities at the state level.

At this year’s Capital Conference, the League’s Anthony Minghine will unveil some of our findings and lay out the next steps in this significant effort to reshape policymaking around this important issue. You won’t want to miss out on this session! Get the details and register today!
