Scott Brooks retired from the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office in 2023 after 25 years and is now the Captain at the Charlotte Police Department. He is part of the Eaton County Active Violence Team, which is responsible for training first responders and civilians on how to respond to an Active Violence Incident.
In addition to being an ALERRT instructor and negotiator, Scott works part time at Lansing Community College’s Police Academy teaching active violence, crime scene investigation and scenario-based training. He was part of the response to Michigan State University on February 13, 2023, and assisted in the Unified Command and at the Family Information Center.
