Executive Director | Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy
Lesley D. Slavitt joined the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy as executive director in April 2023. A seasoned philanthropic leader, Lesley has worked with community stakeholders throughout her career. Lesley was chief executive officer of Fiat Chrysler’s Foundation and spent 10 years at JPMorgan Chase. She also previously served in administrative roles in social justice–centered higher education and urban innovation organizations.
She is a strategic advisor to Co.act Detroit, serves on the board of the Urban Renaissance Center, and is on the advisory group for collaboration of The Chronicle of Philanthropy, the Associated Press, and The Conversation on Philanthropy. Lesley holds a doctorate in planning from the University College London; master degrees in urban planning and historic preservation, both from Columbia University; and a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
