National Resilience Lead | Farallon Strategies

Beth Gibbons is the National Resilience Lead with Farallon Strategies. Her career spans over a decade of experience working on climate change resilience and adaptation. She previously served as the Executive Director of the American Society of Adaptation Professionals and prior to that she was the Director of University of Michigan’s Climate Center and manager of the Great Lakes Integrated Sciences and Assessments (GLISA) Center.

Beth has led regional and national conversations on climate migration and how communities are, or should be, preparing to receive climate migrants. These include working with New York State to model how residents moving away from highly vulnerable coastal communities could be induced to move within the state and directing a Great Lakes regional stakeholder assessment of perspectives on the risks and opportunities posed by climate induced migration.

While her work is national, she is a dedicated community leader and extends her passion for resilient places and justice into her service and volunteer work; she serves as a sustainability commissioner in her beloved community of Ypsilanti, MI
