Deirdre Waterman’s varied professional experience provides her with a unique vision of local government. For thirty years, Dr. Waterman owned and operated Holloway Eye Care in Pontiac, bringing clarity to her patient’s eyesight. Now, as Pontiac’s first female mayor, her role is to create and implement a vision to revitalize the economically-challenged city.
At the Convention’s Closing General Session – Towards the City (and Village) We Need – Waterman will share some of the ideas she has put into practice since taking office in 2013. She’ll also offer insights on applying some of the lessons she’s learned in other communities.
Dr. Waterman is sure to open our eyes!
