With a diverse background spanning urban and rural areas across multiple states, she specializes in building, rehabilitating, and developing projects. Her extensive experience includes working with tax credits, brownfield developments, master-planned communities, and transit-oriented projects.

Throughout her career, Shannon has successfully completed over 20,000 units of mixed-income housing, emphasizing sustainability, urban revitalization, and creating a sense of place. In 2018, she co-founded Renovare Development with her partner Jill Ferrari, establishing it as a woman-owned, social impact, real estate development company. Renovare focuses on transformational projects in Michigan that address deep community needs, offering inclusive and comprehensive solutions for housing and economic development.

Shannon actively engages with key stakeholders, legislators, local governments, and interest groups, playing a vital role in developing and supporting policies and legislation related to federal and state smart growth housing and development. Her advocacy efforts have resulted in the successful passage of several pieces of legislation at both the federal and state levels.

Shannon’s dedication and achievements have not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by the honors she has received, including being inducted into the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame in 2023. She was also awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for Redevelopment in Brownfield by the Center for Creative Land Recycling and the US EPA in 2019. In 2018, Shannon was recognized as the National Affordable Housing Developer of the Year by Smart Growth America, further highlighting her significant contributions to the real estate development sector.
