Legislature Passes $175 Million in One-Time Funding for Roads

Yesterday the Legislature sent to the Governor the $175 million in leftover General Fund dollars from last year for state and local transportation departments as additional money to fix Michigan’s roads.

Local road agencies will receive these funds in addition to their FY 2018 payments. The additional revenue should be distributed by the end of March or early April. For a breakdown of the distribution please click here.

Also, for the Fiscal year beginning October 1, 2018, the first phase of general fund money that was included in the road funding package will be appropriated. This will result in an additional allocation of $150 million for state and local road agencies.
